Apple appear a new, small iPhone at its event this morning, and it’s properly called the iPhone SE. Turns out, the fool about this one were cute accurate. It’s the same global size as the iPhone 5S, but has a soft chamfered deflection around the peak rather than the faint curves that the iPhone 6 lineup has. Really, it’s the same global size as the iPhone 5S with hardly curved screen perimeter and no camera protruding.
Inwardly, the iPhone SE is top-notch. It has an A9 SoC and M9 process making it twice as fast as the iPhone 5S, along with an NFC chip for Apple Pay. The rear camera is 12 megapixels, while the front-facing camera is 5 megapixels that uses the cover for flash. Apple also has its latest Wi-Fi and cellular machinery in the SE, making it as much ‘mini iPhone 6S’ as refreshed 5S.
The SE also has Touch ID, but lacks the curtain technology capable of 3D Touch. You can get the iPhone SE in Space Grey, Rose Gold, Silver or Gold.
Reduce for the device starts at $399, which brings you 16GB of domestic storage, or $499 for 64GB. If you’ve had your eye on Apple’s impressive iPhone 5S, you’re out of luck; the iPhone SE follow the 5S in Apple’s smartphone lineup.
